Story Ideas
I decided to have a page dedicated to some of the ideas for books that I’ve had over the years. Only ones that are partially written—and in a genre I will continue to write—are included here. If I was to list all of my story ideas, it would take days to write them all down.
The Wellspring of Life

The Wellspring of Life
Book Blurb
Found as an infant among the bloody remains of people who died trying to protect him, Arian has known from early childhood that King Urrig of Niradenn must never know that he did not die that day, for he would be hunted down and killed if that happened. For that reason, his adoptive parents have told him that the extraordinary magical abilities he possesses must never be used because of the risk that someone will find out about them. Despite their warnings, Arian cannot deny the power that dwells within him and continues using it in secret.
Then the day comes when three strangers arrive and tell Arian that a prophecy given on the day of his birth proclaims that he is the only person who can defeat Urrig and return peace and hope to Niradenn. But, to fulfill that prophecy, he must learn how to use his magic to kill, though it is against everything he feels in his heart.
Struggling to accept his destiny and the things he will have no choice but to do, Arian learns how to fully use his unique and immensely powerful magic, all the while seeking an answer to the mystery of who and what he is.
But, even if Arian manages to make it through all the dangers he will face, will he survive the final battle that will pit his power against the dark magic the king wields, a terrible force that, if left unchecked, will ultimately destroy all of Niradenn?
Several chapters of this story have been written, but I hit a brick wall on where I wanted the story to go. Then the the Half-Blood Trilogy hijacked my brain at gunpoint, and this poor story has been collecting electronic dust since then. I don’t know if it’ll ever see the light again.

Ring of Wishes
Book Blurb
All who possess it desire to keep it … and therein lay their doom.
Throughout the ages, the ring had passed from owner to owner. It gifted to each one the ability to achieve all they desired simply by wishing for it. Great wealth? It was theirs. Power and prestige? They need only ask for it. Most of the ring’s owners would do anything to keep it: lie, cheat, steal, even kill.
But the ring was also cursed by the one who created it centuries ago. The curse states that everyone who uses the ring will ultimately be destroyed by the very things it gives to them. Not until the day that the one who discovers the true secret of the ring’s power and becomes its master will the curse be lifted.
Matthew Taylor had purchased the metal detector on a whim. He really didn’t expect it to find enough of value to even pay for itself. But that was before he found the ring. He could tell that it was old, but neither of the antique dealers he showed it to were able to deduce its origins. Strangely, both of them seemed very eager to purchase it despite their failure to determine anything about it. Matthew wasn’t ready to sell it yet and decided to do a bit of research on it instead.
With that decision, Matthew is launched into a frightening and deadly adventure as he discovers the power of the ring and finds out that there are people who will stop at nothing to possess it. And, even if he manages to keep it out of their hands, will he escape the deadly curse … or be its next victim?
This story is a bit of a departure for me in that it leans a wee bit toward horror, a genre I do not like. It really is no more than “horror light,” though, something that would be considered a weak, whimpering baby compared to anything Stephen King wrote. The only think that dips into the realm of horror is the curse and what it drives people to do.
Like the story above, I reached a point where I stalled and didn’t know where to go from there. Unlike the story above, I really do hope to finish it someday.
As a bonus for you readers, I’ve posted the prologue HERE.
